Texas, All I Can Say is 'Wow'.
One of the USA's most "conservative" States has re-elected Republican Rick Perry to his 3rd term as Governor.
Gov. Perry's ad campaign was continually telling us he was the conservative choice for governor of the great state of Texas. He must have forgotten about pushing for the Texas Trans-Corridor (TTC), which would be using imminent domain (i/e violating private property rights), NAFTA, and mandatory HPV vaccinations for young girls.
Apparently so did the voters.
People, you have got to stop complaining about the way conservative values are going down the drain & how no one in public office is listening to you, and then still vote for the "same ol' same ol'". If this keeps up, there will be no way to pull this Country off the cliff it's teetering on because we will have succeeded in helping tie our own hands behind our backs.

The Start of a New Year
I hope everyone had a wonderful Hanukkah & a safe New Year's! Can you believe it's already 2010? All around me, people are making resolutions & asking if I've made mine. The answer is "No". I really can't see the reason for making resolutions. Most of them probably won't be kept, & for that people beat themselves up. That doesn't mean I won't try to do some extra things this year, or do some things differently, but that I'm not going to make the promise of doing them & then not doing so.
Mom & I are healing up quite well, although on some days we're still a little stiff or sore, depending on the weather. I'm really looking forward to the day that I'll be able to get down on my hands & knees & play with our shih tzu puppy, Groucho (named for the actor, Groucho Marx, not the Grinch!)
I have learned a lot through this whole ordeal.
I've found out how truly caring my family is (not that they weren't before, I just really didn't notice until I was laid up), that if you're in a wreck, a Buick is a pretty good car, & how many friends I'm blessed with! I've also learned that I'm not invincible. Life can change in a matter of seconds! Although painful & very inconvient, I thank God that no one was seriously hurt. And yes, I'm still on the road to patience, but I do believe this has brought me a few steps closer!
I hope everyone has a great weekend! Shabbat Shalom & God bless!

Okaaayy, so it's been a loooonnngg time since I last wrote!
Lots of things have happened since the last post, but I won't bore you with every little thing. Save your applause!
I do have to start by saying that this year has been a political one for my family. There is finally a candidate we can believe in running for Oklahoma Govenor, Sen. Randy Brogdon! Randy is a strong believer in our Constitutional freedoms & a true Conservative on the Republican ticket. Currently, he is running against Congresswoman Mary Fallin (R), who voted for the $700 billion bailout, which has put us deeper in debt. If you're interested in learning more about Sen. Brogdon, here's his website: http://www.randybrogdon.com
Another major occurrence happened almost three weeks ago. My mother & I were involved in a car accident. Now she's laid up with a fractured shoulder & pelvis & on a cane, while I get around on crutches while my fractured knee heals up. We had surgery a little over a week ago, so we are on the mend, but it seems like it's taking forever. It's a lesson in patience, that's for sure!
My Dad & brothers are so great. They've been taking awesome care of us, making sure we have everything we need close by, making meals & doing household chores on top of their own. We are truly blessed!
Well, it's late, so I will have to end this.
God bless & wear your seatbelts!

Mischievous But Very Funny!
I'm one of those people who like to laugh, whether it be at myself or someone else (never in a mean way, though!). If something strikes me funny, I'm going to laugh & there's no way to stop it, short of shooting me in the foot (& nobody's tried that, yet.)
Here's what happened...I watched Elf yesterday (Will Farrel & James Caan) & in one scene it showed JC's phone ringing & WF quickly picks it up & says, "Hello, this is Buddy the Elf, what's your favorite color?" Well, when JC gets a hold of the phone, the person hangs up.
Sooo...I decided that might be fun to try! And my opportunity came today =D
I answered the phone & said. "Hello, LeLayne the Elf, what's your favorite color?" There was a pause on the other end of the line, so I say "hello" again (thinking that maybe it's one of those weird calls that nobody answers you, so you finally hang up & I just did that for nothing). Finally the lady answers & asks if "Miss Tapp is in". Instead of saying that's me, I say I'm her daughter (I'm not the one receiving calls from Discover just yet.) Then I ask her to wait just a moment & I hand the phone to Mom. The woman hung up in Mom's ear, so I guess I freaked her out just a tad.
I'm also planning other things to say to telemarketers. This should really be fun!

Have you heard...?
1."We have to vote for McCain. We don't want Obama as President."
2. "Third Party Candidates can't win."
3. "You have to vote for the lesser of two evils."
How Many of us have heard one or all of these lines this year? Nearly everyone.
Let's take a closer look at them, shall we?
#1. This one says "vote out of fear". Don't be so afraid of Obama that you overlook the evils of McCain. It says in *2Timothy 1:7, "The Lord hasn't given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind."
Also read *Psalm 27:1. "The Lord is my light and my salvation--whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life--of whom shall I be afraid?"
#2. If everyone who says a third party can't win would vote third party, the third party would have a chance at winning the election and it would send a point to the Major parties.
#3. No you don't. Why vote for evil at all, even if it's considered the "lesser of"?
*Psalm 34:14 "Depart from evil and do good: Seek peace and pursue it."
Take a look at what *Proverbs 8:13 says. "The fear of the Lord is to hate evil; Pride and arrogance and the evil way."
In *Isaiah 5:20 it tells us "Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!"
Listen to what the John the Apostle said in *3John verse 11, "Beloved, do not imitate what is evil, but what is good. He who does good is of God, but he who does evil has not seen God."
If you vote for evil (even the "lesser"), you're doing evil.
I'll end with an example.
You have a choice between these three people: King Herod, Pontius Pilate or Apostle Paul.
Which will you choose?
